Please admin reaffirmed, this thread is about the "CAPITAL CITIES" or major cities that are not capital cities are also may included in the discussion?
Is it probably that I got very limited 'knowledge' about Asian Geography , or indeed cities like Hongkong, Shanghai, Dubai
had been set to be the 'capital city' in each country ..?
Please explain and given some enlightment on the matter, because I see that the "title" of this thread
( Rank the beautiful and classic skyline of Asian capital city? ) is not aligned with the lists of cities that posted by some forumers above .. IMO

"Sep 2013: Updated 100 cities, 4.9% growth in buildings, 7.3% in points. The average building is 123m. Shenzhen is the biggest grower in absolute terms, Wuxi makes the biggest jump from #77 to #45. Outside China, Jakarta and Manila show the largest growth."
From last year, Manila jumped from 14th to 12th place. Jakarta jumped from 17th to 15th. Crazy, considering they're both in 3rd world countries
Skylines? This seems like a better question for the SkyScraper Forums.
But, I'd say HONG KONG (port city with a bay with ocean and mountains right there)....and next I might say KUALA LUMPUR only because of the Petrona Towers.
Does Hanoi have a skyline? I think it's mostly known for it's French Quarters and quaint walkable areas.
Please be informed that:
Hanoi is very fast rising and it has a pretty big skyline Hanoi currently has more than 100 skyscrapers over 100 m
Top 4 : landmark 72 (336m, second tallest in southeast asia), hanoi lotte center 267 m. keangnam palace 1 (212m, palace 2 (212 m); plus 336 m viettin bank tower designed by Norman Foster, under construction now
