MH370 search zone: rough seas and strong currents pose string of problems

Quote:
Far out in the Indian ocean, 1,500 miles south-west of Australia, the people searching for wreckage from Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 will have to fight high winds, mercurial weather and strange currents just to identify debris. On Tuesday, authorities called satellite imagery showing 122 objects, between 1m and 23m long, "the most credible lead yet". The search zone, however, remains massive and problematic.

On the bottom of the ocean

Quote:
As the search zone remains very large, and the terrain of the Indian Ocean's floor is quite varied, currents could either be relatively consistent or totally inconsistent, as eddies can form around the ocean's undersea mountains, ridges, canyons and "extremely active" volcanoes, as geologist Robin Beaman told the AFP. Not only does terrain change currents, it also means crevasses for debris to fall into, geological features that hinder sonar, and a shifting landscape that could obscure wreckage.

It shows the probable final resting site of the plane. The present search operation has been focused on the wrong area, too far down south. The plane did not simply fly blindly to nowhere south in the Indian Ocean. In fact, it was on autopilot mode circulating the least populated area instead of above someone else's house. The pilot has been very compassionate by executing his duty professionally during a dire emergency. The searchers should redirect the black box detector to the indicated area right now before this Monday.

Says the truth, no need wait for the authorities. If they knew well the flight path in the first place, there is no need to wait and search blindly for a needle in the vast ocean. There are many ways for one to obtain information on something - either prevailing way or subtle way.
