I have only seen 5 countries in Asia so among the countries I've been to, I'd say China because of the lifestyle that is pretty exotic to me.

Bhutan was already mentioned and I totally agree - in many respects this country is not very globalized and their ancient traditions have been well-preserved. It's also quite remote and its infrastructure is not especially developed. It's unlikely that the people there are used to tourists.

My first inclination was to say Turkmenistan - it has historically been at the crossroads of many different civilizations, but most Europeans don't know much about Turkmen culture (also, expatriate communities of ethnic Turkmens do not have a significant presence anywhere, in part due to the government restrictions placed on emigration). There is a certain mystique surrounding the nomadic lifestyle and in addition to that the country was until recently quite closed to the outside world (while Saparmurat Niyazov was in charge of the country). It's still the least touristy of the Turkic Central Asian states.

Why Israel? Isn't is as exotic as E.g. Turkey and the the middle east?
Why Japan? Haven't you been to historic sites like Kyoto?

Laos is one country which very few people visit. There are many immigrants from Laos in US in Restaurant business and many times Thai Food which we eat here is actually Americanised Laos food passed on as Thai Food.

Bhutan can also be termed as exotic.

Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan can also be termed as exotic as very few visitors go to those countries and very few visitors or immigrants from those countries are in USA.

Yes although it's increasing in popularity because of it's mysteriousness, remoteness, idyllic rural countryside, rustic charm, culture.etc...unfortunately, like many places, the more people that come the more that will be ruined...
