To be fair to Kent Moore, it does not matter whether he is a Singaporean or not; or whether he is an immigrant or not; Kent Moore has raised a good and valid point on the Singaporean public reaction to this; but to say US citizens do not react the same way as Singaporeans is another thing.

Again, to be fair to Kent, it truly does not matter if he is from a different culture; everybody really comes from a different culture, even the first Singaporeans had all come from different cultures.

To be fair to Kent, he has every right to express his own opinions but i do not feel that the anti-immigration sentiment in Singapore is just unique to Singapore.

From the outside looking in that's not true. Many a comedian from outside has gotten in trouble with Filipino politicians for making a joke and not stomping on their punchlines by announcing "joke". Outside of the Philippines people don't announce "joke" because of hoe folks react. That if nobody made the announcement then they weren't joking, even if they were a professional comedian putting on his show

Sounds like more restrictions of expression than communist countries.

Anti foreign and offensive comments about foreign countries and foreigners are common in some other Asian countries. While bad comments about citizens within the countries are not allowed.

Sounded like an American newspaper insulted a country with "sick man of asia" incident.

Offensive foreigners or organisations got what they deserved.

The nurse was lucky she just got fired. Alan Shadrake a British writer spent almost 6 weeks in jail for publishing an article critical of Singapore's criminal justice system.

Singapore is another false Utopia, with many cracks surfacing. Many will face the end of 99 year leases in retirement age. Imagine having to take care of your housing from scratch, at age 65+, in one of the most expensive cities on the planet. Looks like they are "riding the dragon" straight to Hell.

The old saying to not bite the hand that feeds you seems appropriate here. You're enjoying the hospitality of a foreign nation because your own nation can't support its people...and you pop off like that? Low class to the extreme.

Quite a few years ago I spent a month in Singapore. One day I was in an elevator and another tourist made a crack about Singapore anti-gum-chewing law. A smartly dressed Singaporean turned around and politely, but very firmly, told the tourist, "We know what we what Singapore to be, and we welcome you as a tourist if you can accept our way of life".

Even in the US, many immigrants actually vented out their anger towards the nation, but did US citizens react the way these Singaporeans react??

Again, this is the result of your flawed immigration policy. You should go out and stand in front of the parliament house and challenge them.
As you see, Singapore is pretty strict with this kind of behavior. If they can fire fellow Singaporeans for the same case, then what makes Filipinos special to be treated differently?

It has nothing to do with how Philippines and USA treat their immigrants. He worked in Singapore, so he had to bow down to Singapore's regulation. Not the other way around.
