Was wondering if anyone knew of or had a picture of an attractive pinay model / celebrity who had the darker malay look. The light mixed / mestizo look is easy to find as most of the models, actresses, and celebs have that look.

Don't have pictures, but for example just walking around in the Philippines I've seen it in person. There was a girl I saw at a bus stop working at one of the shops who struck me with her beauty, she was brown skin. I don't get it why people want to have pale skin. Embrace what God has given you.

There are a lot of gorgeous dark-skinned Filipina women. But, the Philippines doesn't see that as beautiful, so I can't imagine any model/celebrity that would come out of the Philippines who would like look that. I think you'd have a better chance finding a Filipina-American or Filipina-something western for that.

Maybe Sharon Leal, who is actually Filipina-American.

Yeah, it's funny that they value the light skin mestiza western look more. While those women are pretty, they dont really stand.out as that much different from other east Asian women, where as the darker indigenous.filipinas with the pitch black hair and dark.features do. Ive seen plenty of stunning filipinas with those looks out here in California.

Filipinos are very racist against dark skin.

The one on the left, is definitely the most attractive. To my 'western' eyes. More exotic, darker complexion.

I don't know if it is racist as much as a beauty preference. It is so strong that darker people don't try to model or act or give up. So that when a plot calls for darker people Filipino actors wear blackface.

I am on the phone and don't know her name but one of the singer's on The Singing Bee game show might qualify for the OP's search.

I'm a Filipino and you guys are correct about the stereotype that having a pale skin is more beautiful than brown skin (or we call it morena) in the eyes of Filipinos.

I myself is married to a mestiza (white) since morena doesn't really attract me. Probably one reason is because they are all over the country since Filipino are majority brown skinned.

you're thinking of Jessica Reynoso, and she's half black. There are actually quite a few half black celebrities in the Philippines. Elizabeth Ramsey has been acting since the 50s. APL from the Black Eyed Peas is probably the most famous. He's a judge on the Voice Philippines.
