China has thousand of years of economic warfare experience. It's not surprising that the CCP is able lure poor countries into China's debt trap.

Sri Lanka is a poor country.
But then ask those who invest in Argentina bonds?

Interesting article from a Western source regarding the so-called Chinese debt traps. Turns out most of the African debt is owned by Western sources who charge nearly double the interest rate. Kind of makes you wonder about all these debt trap allegations constantly levied against China. I put this one up there with the China is discriminating against Muslims rhetoric even though the West are the ones invading and bombing Muslim nations. Course it will not matter to OP or a select group of posters, whose insecurities and warped world view has led them to conclude that anything that can challenge America must be evil and therefore a threat. As they say haters gone hate. It’s just proof you are doing something right.

Indeed, there is no Chinese debt trap, neither in Sri Lanka, nor in Africa or elsewhere.
It is just part of the entire racist anti-Chinese smear campaign by the Nazis in Washington, London and Brussels.

Why is it racist to be against a ruling government?

No, Sri Lanka is a victim of its idiotic attempt to impose green farming.

The first victim? Sri Lanka?
Hardly. Many countries have fallen prey to China debt-trap diplomacy. Officials world wide have been warning against it for years.

Laos lost their entire power grid to the Chinese.
Tajikistan lost mineral rights.
Sri Lanka lost the Hambantota Port for 99 years.
Pakistan has given China exclusive rights to run Gwadar Port for the next four decades.
Montenegro mortgaged itself to China and the EU has refused to bail them out.

Doing business with China is like doing business with Russia. The Germans could tell us a whole lot about that.
In the end both countries will fail. It will take a while, but the loudest voices against those two countries are being expressed by the citizens themselves as they either leave the country or simply refuse to have children.
