A friend in Indonesia has been diagnosed with tuberculosis, which is on the rise there. He describes the Indonesian healthcare system as pretty poor. He doesn't know if he can trust the diagnosis or the treatment. How bad are things there?

I'd be very careful, maybe go to Singapore? All I can say is my daughter had a bad cold due to allergies and the doctor who saw her ther asked her what medication she wanted to take When she got back to the U.S. The doc gave her medication that took care of the problem Before she went back to Indonesia.

Get him to fly to Singapore and see a specialist there.

Is he seeing a indonesian private hospital or public hospital?

not all bad, there are some of the best but it is only limited, usually only in big cities
