Orchard road in Singapore has some really cool malls with amazing architecture and Marina Bay Sands. Bangkok has Siam area with the Siam malls trilogy, Central and EmQuartier, but I don't know much about KL actually, if someone could fill me in it'd be great. Which city has the best malls or shopping scene in your opinion?
Those high end malls in bkk are wordless, primarily because all of those luxury goods are cheaper in the US. There are many other malls that are super...I took care of bank internet, mobile phone, electric bill in about 20 minutes at our mall in Chiang Mai the other day. An older, but very functional mall. And Dairy Queen does cones for 28 cents USD. Same in BKk. They don't allow a & w root beer to have the word beer on their menu in KL....it is RB. 53% of females in Malaysia have had FGM...so they like to cut out the fun no pun intended. Lots of nice ladies at the malls up here. Sing is all style, little substance....but if your company is paying your expenses, it is very livable.
Been to all three (was born in Singapore). All three, as you mentioned, are terrific and you'll find much of what you like in spades in all three cities. However, Bangkok with the size, scale, and scope has more abundant options, so that gives it the edge over the other two.
Interesting, I was raised in Bangkok but I thought Singapore would have nicer shopping malls or shopping experience. Their streets and zoning are defenitely better than Bangkok though, although most major malls in Bangkok are connected with skywalks.
In Sing, they fine the Chinese for feeding the pigeons. In Bangkok they sell them bags of bird food.
