That happens almost in all sea games which the host will reap many golds from relatively unknown sports to other participatong countries. From 22 golds, 10 golds are from dancesport, 5 from arnis, which are not popular sports at all.
So would you say that virtually anyone living in the region will have heard of it or watch it? I'm curious as to how popular this thing actually is.
If u following sport then every region have such of this
European games
South Asia games
SEA (South East Asia) games
African games
....
Etc,.. Then the prestigius one is asian games (only asian country, the second largest event after olympic) then olympic games.
Thats asian or olympic games need more than budget but comitment, track record, etc (in simple word not just easy as hosting sea games)
Well, if from previous track record is bad, so how they will be chosen for hosting largest event.

Right, there are regional games, and I've heard of them, but nowhere I've been to seems to have ever put much significance or have that much media coverage of them, so I'm curious as to whether the SEA games and the countries that participate are quite different in that aspect.
