Anything interesting in BATAM?

I get the impression it's a bit of a sex-tourism place for Singaporean men. Is there much else going on in Batam? Beaches? Much of a city to it, or anything really worth walking around and exploring, as a few day excursion from Singapore?

I almost went there as a day excursion from Singapore for work purposes, but it got cancelled. Not much to offer except in regards to adult activities there is no shortage of that in Singapore already so I don't see why the need for Batam.

I spent a day in Batam once. Not worth the trip. There are much more interesting places in Malaysia to visit.
