This is what can happen when Israel mistreats patrilineal Jews, unfortunately.

In turn, this makes me wonder--do you think that Israel's rapidly growing population will eventually compel it to build much more and much larger settlements in the West Bank?

I'm with Pruzhany on this one. Modern Orthodoxy, not the ultra-religious Herudim are the future of Israel and perhaps Western Jewry. Many if not most of the Herudim's children don't want to be stuck in 17th Century Poland, either for dress or beliefs. They welcome the modern world while wanting to keep their heritage.

West Bank colonies.

Colonialism is the policy of a country seeking to extend or retain its authority over other people or territories, generally with the aim of economic dominance. In the process of colonisation, colonisers may impose their religion, language, economics, and other cultural practices on indigenous peoples. The foreign administrators rule the territory in pursuit of their interests, seeking to benefit from the colonised region's people and resources.

Yes, what Israel is doing in the West Bank could certainly be viewed as an example of settler colonialism.
