Even without settlements, Israel would not have been wiped out. Without settlements, however, Israel would have had a much smaller Jewish Jerusalem metropolitan area.

Do you realize that Israel is about the size of New Jersey, and pre-1967 Israel was about eight miles from coast to the West Bank? How is that defensible?
