I have never been to Singapore but from everything I have seen and read, it looks amazing. I hope to visit it one day and really enjoy being in a first world tropical paradise

Uh, referring back to your original assertion - Trump has done more to erode 1st amendment rights and its' spirit than any so-callled SJW, whatever the heck that means. Care to cite some evidence to support your assertion?
Kind of ironic in a thread extolling Singapore, a country which has both inplicit and explicit limits/curbs on media expression.
My personal favorite is SG government has been able to achieve a living standard comparable to western countries, with much lower tax than western countries. How SG did it should be a lesson for our leaders.
Are you taking into account the CPF required contributions?
Foreigners don't pay into that, so it's likely you don't feel it.
RobertFisher, actually Fairfax County Virginia (DC's largest suburban county, with over one million people) has a violent crime rate that is virtually identical to Singapore's.
There are countless other wealthy suburban counties all across the country that have violent crime rates that are a small fraction of the core cities that they border.
The DC Metro is every bit as useful as the Singapore MRT. Maybe a bit older than the MRT, but who cares, it's still safe, clean, and gets you places, fast.
Asians and Europeans going to the US keep bashing the US after visiting only one city, say San Francisco, saying how violent it is, how much the public transport sucks, how much the education sucks. They have no idea that the US is HUGE and that there are absolutely pockets of great wealth, low crime, awesome public transportation, and top-notch education that would rival or beat anywhere in Asia and Europe. Pockets like Fairfax County.
