As a huge country, China certainly has all sorts of crimes and problems.
But generally it is wise not to believe the China bashing BS.
Yeah 1.2 billion people can't go wrong...reminds me when they've caught the serial killer Chikatilo in Ukraine but let him out immediately the first time since they believed "a communist can't commit a crime".
As long as we can keep using cheap Chinese labour, our world 'leaders' will turn a blind eye to the regime.
Money always trumps morality.
SPY! X 1 that's not tenable. Money CAN be produced by virtue but you can't buy virtue and good rep with money. Money is important too but not the end all and be all.
A 3-year old American boy was found dead in Guangzhou yesterday and there are rumors swirling that he was killed and his organs harvested. Though the US consulate has confirmed his death, no official statement from the police or PSB on the how's or why's. I know people who are friends with his mother who spent all yesterday at the police station trying to get answers. She hasn't been allowed to see the body yet as they are still investigating. The fact that everyone jumped to assume that this could have been one of the reasons he died is somewhat telling - this is a rare crime elsewhere in the world but not at all unheard of here.
It's pretty well-known that China has a black market in organs and arguing against that is stupid; even the authorities admit it's a problem (or at least, they have in the past). Whether it's happening on a large, industrial scale or not is another debate.
