Filipinos made reality the "Legend of Esplandia" where California was named from.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calafia

In it, the legendary place of California was named after a female Caliph who converted to Christianity, the Legend became true when the Spanish came to the Philippines converted the Muslims and Pagans to Christianity, assaulted the Sultanate of Brunei and briefly installed a pro Christian Sultan to the throne, the Sultan was descended from Sharīf ‘Alī ibn ‘Ajlān ibn Rumaithah ibn Muḥammad who himself was a direct son of Hasan ibn Ali who was the fifth Caliph of Islam. When the Spanish, Mexicans and Filipinos retreated from Brunei after the installed Sultan died as well as some their troops also did, of poisoning, the Imperial princess of Brunei the heir apparent and the daughter of Caliphs, Princess Putri left with the Spanish married a Christian Tagalog named Augustin de Legaspi and had children in the Philippines, some made it to the Americas, thus making legend a reality.

Filipinos I.E. Manilamen, also supported and defended America in the war of 1812 when the British attempted to reannex an independent America.

The first official recorded history of Asian Americans fighting on behalf of the U.S. occurred in 1815 in the War of 1812.[1]

During the War of 1812, General Andrew Jackson recorded that "Manilamen" had fought under his general command in defense of New Orleans, under the direct command of Jean Baptiste Lafitte.[1] Following the war, at least one Filipino American, Augustin Feliciano, continued to serve in the U.S. Navy.[16]

We also helped Mexico in their revolution against Spain...

Isidoro Montes de Oca (1789–1847) was a Mexican of Filipino descent who was a revolutionary general who fought in the Mexican War of Independence between 1810 and 1821. He was among the commanders of the army of Vicente Guerrero and José María Morelos. And was a trusted man of Vicente Guerrero and was his sub-General.

Originating from the Rancho de La Alhaja, in the current municipality of La Unión. He attended many war actions under the command of Morelos and Guerrero. He was head of the escort of Generalissimo Morelos called the 50 pairs. The main battle action where he stood out was that of the Treasury of Tamo, in Michoacán on September 15, 1818, in which the opposing forces numbered four times greater, they were totally destroyed. On the death of Don José María Morelos, on December 22, 1815, few insurgents remain fighting the royalists. The majority were pardoned but Vicente Guerrero continued fighting in the mountains of the south, who in the hacienda of Tamo (of the State of Michoacán today), together with Don Isidro Montes de Oca and with few and poorly armed insurgents, inflicted a real defeat on the royalist Gabriel from Armijo and they also got enough equipment to properly arm 1,800 soldiers of freedom who in the future will deserve the respect of Iturbide.

He stood out for his courage in the siege of the Port of Acapulco in 1813, under the orders of General José María Morelos y Pavón. As well as in the Cuautla Site. He was present in the historical deed called Acatempan's embrace, between Agustín de Iturbide and Vicente Guerrero. Near the end of the war he reached the rank of captain general. After the end of the Mexican war of independence, he obtained some positions in the government of the republic; standing out as senator of the State of Sonora. Later retiring of the public life and taking refuge in the population of Petatlán, Guerrero; where he dedicated himself to the administration of his property, as well as to the activities of cattle raising and agriculture.

We made America's ideals come true and defended your land from the British who want to Re-annex you and helped Mexico too.

When we rebelled against the Spanish to establish the First Philippine Republic, we patterned our Republic on YOUR Masonic Ideals, and even after the American and French Revolution even!

And what do we get out of this? After making your dreams a reality, defending your land from your former imperialists and even making a Republic in YOUR honor encapsulating your ideals and legacy. What did our ONLY ally in the Revolution did?

Backstab us of course! And kill almost 1 Million of us Filipinos.

Imagine if only one of your 4 allies in the American revolution against Britain: France, the Netherlands and Spain and Portugal. Decided to backstab you, then the American Revolution would have failed. And here we have Americans our only ally, backstab us after we were exhausted fighting the Spanish...

You Americans are at the very summit of Satanic political immorality. TRAITOROUS MASONS and land or REBELS and REFUGEE CRIMINALS, you are no different than your genocidal cowardly ancestors!!!

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phil...93American_War

It gets even worse mind you! Not simply being satisfied with murdering people who have been nothing but good towards Americans and even built a Republic in YOUR image...

When American colonization transpired and about 800,000 Americans were already born in the Philippines. You abandoned us AGAIN! In World War 2. Not merely being satisfied by abandoning Filipinos you also abandoned your own American sons born in the Philippines...

On December 7, 1941, the Empire of Japan launched a surprise attack on Pearl Harbor, prompting the United States to join the Allies against the Axis powers.[153] Although Japan attacked the United States first, the U.S. nonetheless pursued a "Europe first" defense policy.[154] The United States thus left its vast Asian colony, the Philippines, isolated and fighting a losing struggle against Japanese invasion and occupation, as military resources were devoted to the European theater.

Manuel Quezon has something to say about this...

He was known to have uttered “Que demonio! How typical of America to writhe in anguish at the fate of a distant cousin, Europe, while a daughter, the Philippines, is being raped in the back room!”

Not content with simply abandoning us AGAIN and AGAIN you even bombed our capital and destroyed centuries worth of Architecture.

What kind of twisted madman bombs the cities of his own allies? But that is exactly what you Ameri****s did!

https://www.rappler.com/newsbreak/iq...ed-manila-1945

Guess where this picture of a bomb dropped on Manila was taken from?

An American Bomber for FFFs sake!

This is how you treat us?????

Even now when we still are the MOST Pro-American Nationality in the world...

https://www.rappler.com/nation/56085...a-pew-research

You still treat us like Garbage!!! ARE WE WORTH NOTHING TO YOU???

We bled for you in the millions, have been there since the beggining yet you invest more money in your sworn enemies like Japan or China or etc. who did nothing for you!!!!

You even invest more in Thailand and Singapore who did NOTHING for you too!

https://apps.bea.gov/scb/2018/08-aug...-positions.htm

You already betrayed us FAR TOO MANY TIMES...

your country has a white savior complex, its named after king phillip of spain, and its caving to the people's republic of china.

Duerte's only good idea was renaming the country.

Indonesia makes better martial arts movies and has better food even though most of the country follows the ways of the foreign bedoiun.

Your country needs to revert from the pre-hispanic, pre-islamic ways, stop using spanish names and spanish named currency, emphasize eskrima, and go back to ways of garuda like the rajhanates of cebu and tondo and secularize.

Break the cycle. Rise above. Focus on Science.

good luck

We don't have a white savior complex there were no freaking white saviors to save us. Even in World War 2, we wouldn't need saving from the Japanese had there been no Europeans or Americans here in the first place. Yet it's actually the reverse, we were saviors to two countries in America, Mexico and the US. Filipinos became soldiers and one even was a general in the Mexican revolution while Filipinos I.E. Manilamen fought with the Americans against a re-invading Britain in the war of 1812. Most of the soldiers who fought for America in the Pacific Theatre of World War 2 were actually born in the Philippines and we had to suffer the most under Japanese occupation while their fat safe pansy asses chilled in the US mainland which was untouched by war.

We can't change the past though.

At the very least I expect a sense of shame stemming from common decency from Americans here.

But apparently judging from the two threads they made while ignoring this (One thread was even about a man asking what kind of gift he should give to his Thai Prostitute). Americans have zero sense of shame or remorse, I pray that they will change because if they don't God will give them hell.

As for us we are a forgiving bunch, these shameless criminals just need to repent and ask forgiveness and we will freely give it. Instead, nada zilch.

Let's pray for the conversion and sanctification of Hal Roach who insinuated that Filipinos in America are maids.

https://www.city-data.com/forum/asia/...-thailand.html

There's nothing wrong with honest menial labor, God blesses the poor and disciplines the rich. But he looked down on his own fellow Christian, fellow Westernized people and even a people with partial European or Latin American descent as "maids" and insulted our common faith in Christ.

Well FYI, we Filipinos who are the 4rth Richest Ethnic Group In America would rather be in the company with humble and honest maids than a shameless elitist racist sexist sexpat.

Still, there is hope, God always forgives so we will follow Christ's example and forgive you too.

And love even though you continue to hurt us.

Still, I thank God that people think we are poor and servile though, even though we outrank them in wealth in their own country, at least we expose how shallow and materialistic some people are.

Thank You my Indonesian Brother. Yes let's focus on Science. No matter how good a person you are if you don't have power, the unfortunate fact is that people will only abuse your goodness, true justice only happens in the after life while on earth, we have to deal with shallow deceitful people, so it's best to be powerful. It's also good to be good and loving too but most people don't appreciate that and actually abuse good people.

Still I have faith that even in practical matters truth and justice will prevail.

It's hard to make sense of your thread OP due to the changing text, embedded pictures, and the digression into history that really has nothing to do with your theme. Yes we know the topic - US treats Philippines like garbage. We got that. You forgot to explain WHY you think "the US treats the Philippines like garbage" except for some examples from 70 years ago. You want to take another shot at it?

Also in regards to your reference to WW2:
1.) Bombed your capital Manila in the retaking of the capital. You think just maybe the Japanese that held the capital and turned it into a fortress had a bit to do with it? When Japan invaded we declared Manila an open city and retreated rather then see it destroyed. When we retook the Philippines, japan fortified Manila and wanted to fight to the death house to house. At the same time Japanese were massacring civilians. I got a novel idea for you - blame the country that was occupying your city by force and massacring your people - the Japanese. What exactly are they teaching you in history class?
2.) More than twenty-five thousand dead Americans fell in the Philippines both during the japanese invasion in 1941-42 and the allied liberation in 1944, a further forty to seventy thousand were wounded. This does not include those that were murdered or tortured to death in POW camps or fell out by the 100s and bayoneted with fellow Filipino troops in the Bataan Death March - Probably you should be down on your knees giving thanks to us right now. YOU ARE WELCOME.

There may be good examples of US treating the Philippines badly, I can't think of a few. But WW2 is like the last example in the world you want to use.

Manila-American cemetery - Americans and other allies who gave there life defending and liberating the Philipines in the second world war.
Good timing - today is veteran's day in the U.S.

I honestly can't think of anyone in my entire lifetime back in the US who doesnt have a positive opinion of Filipinos, and the Philippines has a something like 80% favorable view of the US, iirc., so I really don't know where all this animosity over things that happened 75-100+ years ago is coming from. Seems to me that you're outlier and your opinions aren't anything close to a majority.
