Seriously? The reasons should be obvious - but in case not, it's no longer mystery virus and it's not limited to two countries.
But it was in jest of course - I don't expect anyone to change the title on a 6 month old thread. Don't worry about it.
Let's just say their "plan" is working to perfection...
China GDP up over 11% last month...
For now. They pumped money back into the economy, which raises GDP; also, they can basically report whatever they want. This year was big symbolically, as they wanted to double their GDP and "eliminate poverty;" there are plenty of foreign journals that speculate as to whether they really can because of everything that's happened this year, and now with the flooding, but it's somewhat naive to wonder. Of course they will reach their target...
There are bigger systematic issues; debt, major economies changing their business practices with China, debt, problems with the BRI and the debt associated with it, debt... we will see one way or the other.

what is this bs, double their GDP? do you realize how ridiculous your claim is?
President Xi Jinping has repeatedly said over the last two weeks that China will still strive to achieve its economic and social development goals for 2020 despite the outbreak, which has claimed over 1,800 lives and infected over 70,000 people, and remain on course to build the country into a “comprehensively well-off society”.
One key aspect of that vision is that China will double the size of its GDP in 2020 from 2010, which would require a minimum 5.6 per cent growth rate in 2020, although Beijing has never clearly defined the full details of the goal.
On Tuesday, Ren Hongbin, vice-chairman of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, said that the annual production goals and reform tasks set earlier in the year for state-owned enterprises would also not change despite the outbreak.
Known as xiaokang shehui, a term often translated as “moderately prosperous society” and comparable to the western concept of middle class, the plan called for doubling gross domestic product from 2010 to 2020 and the eradication of extreme poverty.
Why so hostile towards me when this is quite well-established? Chill out.
Do many Americans believe it was a Biological weapon? what are the thoughts on here?
Some people do; I know people back home who think it was a biological weapon, for sure. I also know people in China who think it was an American bioweapon.
More people I know in the US think it was accidentally leaked from a biolab, not that it was done maliciously.
