that's what that is about? I thought the US said closing the chinese embassy is to "prevent spying, IP theft and stealing"?

Here's a Lancet article comparing COVID SARS 2.0 to SARS 1.0 as per the first post in this topic.

Much more infectious than SARS but less deadly. So more people may die and be hospitalized under this epidemic.

Technically, one could close all diplomatic outposts for most every country since a good number of the staff either works for the military or the intelligence services and using the diplomatic position for protection to carry out spying.

That's a consulate, not an embassy .

Waiting for the closing of the embassy in DC now lmao.

at this point, I'm not even sure if this is deliberate act on both sides as "4 more years" serves the best interest of the chinese more than the americans

Not that Trump’s been good to anyone, but it’s hilarious how wumaos can interpret anything as “serving the best interest of the Chinese”. A consulate being shut down serves their best interest, a busted spy serves their best interest, next we are probably gonna hear mentally-challenged statements like “half of China drowned by floods actually serves China’s best interests.” Lol.

It helps China, because it reverses the brain drain and make overseas Chinese more nationalistic. Lots of Chinese are losing interest in moving to the USA and students are moving back.

So basically you are arguing that having terrible relations with other countries is a net positive for China?

In that case China's should just break diplomatic ties with all Western countries and Japan then, so that China could reach the stars.

Number of doctors, hospital beds, medicines and money are all important. Countries have different amounts.

Different countries' rates such as smokers, obesity etc correlate with effects of Covid to societies in addition to very different measures to tackle the pandemic.

They are not leaving because they have bad relationship, they are leaving because they percieve China as an equal or better place to live than America.
