As of April 14, Vietnam's Ministry of Health confirmed a total of 265 cases of COVID-19. However, 155 of the affected patients have recovered.

Zero deaths.

New Zealand has 1072 confirmed cases, 628 recovered, 9 Deaths.

New Zealand is so much further away from China than Vietnam, and their population is lot smaller and much more dense.

No one is really praising Vietnam that I have seen. But the issue is that if they want to lie about number, who cares. It's there own internal issue.
For China however, it originated there. Them lying about the numbers, impact, and how it is spread impacted the global community.
Vietnam, whatever the real impact, was effected by China's lack of transparency.

Don't know.

The powers are not questioning Vietnam reliable or not because it is not a rival. It is not big enough to receive attention or criticism from countries not near it.

Vietnam has a high mask wearing rate like other Asian countries. So it is perceived to have a better situation than countries with lower rates.
