At least 20 Indian soldiers have died after a "violent face-off" with Chinese troops along the countries' de facto border in the Himalayas late Monday, the Indian army has said.

The incident occurred during a "deescalation process" underway in the Galwan Valley in the disputed Aksai Chin-Ladakh area, where a large troop build-up has reportedly been taking place for weeks now on both sides of the border, before senior military commanders began talks earlier this month.

The Indian army had earlier said three soldiers had died, but added on Tuesday that a further 17 troops "who were critically injured in the line of duty at the standoff location and exposed to sub-zero temperatures in the high altitude terrain have succumbed to their injuries."
The deaths are the first military casualties along the two countries' disputed border for more than 40 years.

India should resolve it with diplomacy. Because it can never beat China militarily or economically.

Militarily, China and India would be at a stalemate most likely . They'd hopefully never engage in full out war as both are nuclear powers.

CCP and PLA did not release causality numbers.

PLA got their butt kicked by vietnam. They haven't been to hold any mountain territory after 1962. THere's also no Nehru this time and the Indian Army has been fighting since the 1990s against jihadis and pakistanis.

Both countries also have nukes capabile of hitting each other's major cities.

Don't buy Hauwei and don't buy made in china. problem solved

CCP is messing with everyone in Asia. Their economy went to crap with the US trade war, and PLA bioweapon COVID-19. Their mandate from heaven is shaken. If tummies are not full and too many poor angry men, yellow turban rebellion on the CCP.

Xi removed all term limits on his power. Pooh bear must save face.

Never trust a communist.

Launch the nuke and get it over with it. Accelerate the space program and colonization.

India is still relying too much on cheap ass post-commie weaponry (arms from Russia). You would have thought they learned when they got there butt kicked by Pakistan (of all things) in an air-to-air skirmish last year.

India - buy Uncle Sam next time.

Actually, still wondering who won that one and who started it.

This is bull**** war from Indian perspective. They know they'll loose since: China has the stronger military, India's been affected heavily by covid, it's poorer. Just cede the small area to China or you'd be forced to buy american guns and enter in debt.

Pakistan vs. India air battle, who knows the why and what for. No one really won, it was just a mindless skirmish. All I know is an american-made Pakistani F16 (which is actually starting to age) armed with our precision AIMs shot down a russian made indian MIG without even breaking a sweat. Pakistan was a bad boy, they weren't supposed to use our weapons in that manner, and they had to Stand Tall Before The Man and do some explaining, but still...

Uncle Sam's weapons are expensive, but you pay for the best.
