I really don't see the point of revoking sar status or merging even after 50 years. You think the chinese government wants to deal with the managing the casinos of macau and real estate tycoons of hong kong?

what's different is that in 1997 there wasn't any cities in china that can compete with hong kong. But now a days even shenzhen and guanzhou has surpassed hong kong even if you're only looking at the pearl delta region

the two systems must be kept in order to show the chinese which system is the better system for years to come.
There is NO guarantee whatsoever that the two systems will stay for years to come either, and it's ironic that you are now saying it will, when previously you were saying that it could be revoked well-before at anytime as well.

In short, you have no idea either. No one does. It's all pure speculation; and that uncertainty is why there is that tension in Hong Kong.

well, if you actually read my posts, it's not either "revoke" or "extended", it's always a degree of "hands off" and "stepping in".

you just think it's black or white, either hong kong complete autonomy or china revoke the sar status. It never works like that.

Well, the two systems just started...and we're not even half way through the 50-year mark. Of course it's going to be 'hands off' and 'stepping in' and the start, and any act of non-compliance, could imply a full force of complete revocation - you've even said that yourself.

well, it's not just started, it's almost to the half way point.

please point out where I said "a full force of complete revocation" based on "any act of non-compliance"

does the recent "having national security law" = "a full force of complete revocation"?

you don't think it's mostly hands off in the 2000s when it comes to hong kong?

so hands off that allowed the teachers to brain wash students that were born after 1997? why bother with the national security law then? according to you, they should just completely revocate the sar status right?

there are many many steps between completely hands off and completely revoking the sar status.

please learn to read.

'Please learn to read'. Plus you do the implication of 'according to you' of words that I never said. You should take your own advice if you are going to just make gross assumptions to argue points. Either that, or take a course in 'civil adult discourse' so that you can create thought-provoking discussion without immature language and semantics.

Anyway, it's obvious that you hate Hong Kong with every ounce of your being, and I really do not care at all. I have no interest whatsoever in what happens there. So let's end this discussion here.
