Clearly you have no idea how recommendation systems work, while I used to develop one. I have much more insights than you do.
If you check Chinese media, there are many positive and neutral stories of America and other countries. Chinese mainstream media is state run and the opinions are certainly controlled by government, but it's still more balanced. Don't you see the problem now? US media has the opportunity to be diverse but as a result, it is biased. This is even worse.
Moreover, people in China all know the media serves the government and won't fully trust it. Americans also don't trust the media on domestic issues, but when it is about China and other countries, they suddenly trust CNN and Fox News as if it was ok to be biased against foreign countries. This is also something wrong.
