From what I have heard, severall people in CCP are not happy about Alibaba being in the fintech business and their monopolistic tactics. By criticizing the financial regulations, then he gave them an opportunity to take him down.
However, instead of doing it the proper way and open up an antitrust investigation, the CCP decided to crush the IPO at the last minute and make Jack Ma missing.
