There will be no war. Neither side wants it and the US certainly doesn’t want it.
Both sides have very capable militaries and the casualties will be extremely high on both sides. Much too high a price for either side to pay, so they don’t pay it.
It’s a game they play. One side drifts toward implying someday that they might say they are independent, and the other side gets mad, even though the whole world knows they are really independent. So they back off from implying that they might say it someday, and life goes on.
War of words perhaps. What would a war entail. A sea borne invasion of Taiwan like D Day in Normandy during WW II? That would be a massive undertaking subject to naval, air and coastal attacks by the Taiwan armed forces.
Would any military anywhere amass huge concentrations of troops during the world wide Covid pandemic? The United States would not directly intervene given their dismal history of a futile protracted wars in Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan.
PLA and CCP want to start WW3 over democratic Taiwan
Never trust a communist!
That's always been the Mainland China message, nothing new. Same story.
The message isn't to Taiwan, it's to the new US administration - Sleepy Joe and team.
China will be testing him further soon. I just remember Obama's Sec of Defense Robert Gates warning on Biden: Biden has “been wrong on nearly every major foreign policy and national security issue over the past four decades.”

Nonsense. This sounds like the ravings from the prepper forum looking for a reason to build a fallout shelter stocked with can goods. Can you conceive of how much trading occurs between our two countries? How many citizens from there are living here and vice versa? If you do you would know that is impossible, at least without the tensions building up astronomically to what it is now. What PRC is saying is don't give Taiwan this or that weapon, don't encourage Taiwan independence, don't recognize them her or there. It's diplomacy.
well nk and tw are no where near us. we have cuba instead
which is why I advocate annexing Cuba. That's prime beachfront property. Its got good soil. Its by the equator too which is good for space launches. communists don't know how to properly manage that place. It should be a US territory or state. Russia annexed crimea. We should do the same.
