I am not Hispanic but am half Chinese half white from CA. I am not going to Asia anytime soon and as big and broad as Asia is, even China is big and broad, does anywhere have Hispanic communities or food? I’ve been to China/HK like Shanghai, Beijing, Hangzhou and HK, Shenzhen and I am sure I have passed by a Mex restaurant or two or googled it.
Yeah of course, the population would be low, Mexican food is rare and probably not good. I heard the Mex food in Australia is bad as well as Canada (stuff I had in BC is ok I think) but have you ever had decent or ok Mexican or Hispanic food? I am actually curious. I have not been to China in 6 years but if I ever do again I would imagine it to be nothing amazing but interesting to try. I am mainly into tacos and the occasional burrito or huevos rancheros.
I think there may be a small Latin community in Hk and Shanghai and I heard Philippines has some Mexicans who moved to Spain who moved there and maybe some from Mexico. Maybe Japan has some Mexican college students or restaurant people.
The Philippines has Mexican communities all over the islands during the Spanish era, most of their identity faded to the mainstream Filipino though but some areas like Cavite and Zamboanga speak a language thats a Creole of Mexican Spanish called Chavacano.
Not many in Japan, people are barely aware of where Mexico is or even what Mexican food is. There are a few Mexican places around but not many, and when there are, they are usually pretty awful honestly. I've been to a few decent places though, but you truly gotta look for them.
Large Peruvian and especially Brazilian population though.

There are only 250,000 Brazilian-Japanese, whereas during the Spanish period of the Philippines, as much as 12% of the population are Spanish or Mexican descendants.
In my many trips to the major cities in Asia, I’ve not seen any Mexican or Hispanic food available.
What? The Philippines has many stereotypical Filipino food which is Mexican in origin like Leche Flan, Maize con Yelo, Adobo, Paella, Ceviche and etc. etc.
Sure. I've seen Mexican restaurants in Bangkok (most on par with Mexican restaurants in the U.S.). There's even one run by a pair of brothers who moved there from Mexico.
