Wishing everyone who will be celebrating a Happy & Prosperous Year of the Tiger!

Any particular traditions connected to the Year of Tiger vs. other Zodaic signs in the Asian celebrations?

Happy New Year to all! There are no special traditions to any specific zodiac sign, at least not to my knowledge. The hearsay has different things to say about each sign and year but they're all treated similarly and equally in my household. There's no shame in being born in any one year including the Year of the Tiger even though the Chinese world for "tiger" has the same pronunciation as the word for "bitter". It's still cause for celebration.

The year of tiger is usually the year with fewest newborns as tiger is the worst sign. People of tiger sign can't do a lot of stuff traditionally, like they can't go to weddings and ****, which is laughable. Dragon is the opposite.

Though at this point it doesn't really matter anymore since all countries using Chinese zodiac have very few births.

I assume they could still get married and attend their own wedding?!

Ha..ha...wha....ha... The year of the Tiger. I think I've figured some things out about the Chinese new year. Tiger represents a ferocious animal. Eats and tears apart any flesh it chooses. And a fighter in the wild forest and woods. Just like that song says, the eye of the Tiger. The new moon is what they are celebrating. A new season. Hopefully it will be filled with many good things. The moon is what they worship. So they come out at nights. They're the ones prospering. Something to that effect. I'm only making a guess of what I believe is real about the Chinese people. Whether in China or Hawai'i. They celebrate that here too. Chinatown, Honolulu.

They can still get married but there are customs about it too. I'm not familiar with them as nobody cares about all that anymore.

Okay. Somebody had asked me what was the significance of the Year of Tiger. So I assume nothing special nowadays vs. other Chinese Zodiac signs/years.
