Being the oldest poster I remember number two in 1967. Living in Cairnhill Mansions on Orchard not far from the original CK Tangs.

We will be traveling there for 5 days in early September before going on to Bali. We were there in 2015 and enjoyed ourselves and the cuisine especially

Is Ai's Nest still there, the legendary hostel in Little India? I heard the govt tried to shut it dawn, as beneath S'pore's standards.

Dun think it is around anymore. Anyway It is not legendary cos not many heard about this hostel before

It's still posted on TripAdvisor. It dates back to the days when Singapore had few if any alternatives.
, maybe the 70s. Travelers heard about it long before they got to Singapore.
