Is this really how Cuju is played? Cuju is the chinese progenitor of modern soccer.
In the vids below, Cuju is portrayed as basically soccer combined with American gridiron football. It is full contact, and teams can throw blocks/screens. It was apparently useful for the ancient/medievel chinese military as it is described as helping with endurance, and fighting technique. I find that interesting, fighting technique.
I guess every culture has its mob football with violence sport, but I just dont see how that would work with kicking the ball. Using its carrying the ball like rugby when violence can work within the game.
