the saudis have 5 trillions invested in the usa.

in the michael moore 911 documentary, he walked on the sidewalk in front of the saudi embassy in the us, and he was inmediately taken to a side by CIA secret agents. according to Moore, if the Saudis pull their money out, well... you can imagine what would happen....

If they pull their dollars out of where, properties, banks??,
* If they want to get rid of their properties they would have to find a buyer to whom to sell it right? or they can declare it as complete loss and let them rot. (It's the investor's loss)
* If they have American currency they would have to spend that currency or just destroy it. (I doubt if they would do that)
Absolutely nothing would happen as far as the US economy is concerned.

The American buying power is so large that if it stopped buying Chinese exports, the Chinese economy would crumble. They need the U.S. as much as the U.S. needs them. The sky is not falling, its a one world economy now.

The United States needs to formulate a better way to back the US dollar. President Obama just asked for more money from China for loans in August of 2012. Now we as Americans must stop and find a solution to our lust for cheap goods from China and other countries and just STOP buying anything which states made in China. China is not our friend and they are biding their time until they become financially strong enough to take us on. I have worked for Chinese owned companies here in the United States and the Chinese people as well as the government see us a weak, stupid and inferior. The products they send here are filled with lead and poisons. Take a ceramic cup, plate or bowl made in china. Put it in the microwave and after a few minutes the item will be hotter than the contents. I have sampled and examined a very large amount of goods placed them in the mass spectrometer and what do you know. 92% of the items contain lead. What a surprise a country who doesn't value freedom and has contempt for Americans poisoning us. Routes of exposure to lead include contaminated air, water, soil, food, and CONSUMER PRODUCTS. Use Chinese goods and risk you and your families life....

The affects of lead on our bodies. Lead interferes with a variety of body processes and is toxic to many organs and tissues including the heart, bones, intestines, kidneys, and reproductive and nervous systems. It interferes with the development of the nervous system and is therefore particularly toxic to children, causing potentially permanent learning and behavior disorders. Symptoms include abdominal pain, confusion, headache, anemia, irritability, and in severe cases seizures, coma, and death. PASS THIS ON - TO All You Know via Facebook, Myspace Twitter and Blog

Keep in mind China needs the US.. to buy their goods. They're not going to let their #1 customer go down. Also the US is a pretty safe investment. If it goes down the entire world will go down with it..

Finally, China does not own the most US bonds, Japan is up there, as well as other countries

Heck even the Philippines owns 39B US bonds.. surprise to me

However it is not just about money.
The US depends on China for manufacturing now. The vast majority of cell phones, computers, TV sets, and so on are all made in China. It's another kind of dependency besides financially.
