I dont know why people are reccomending extremely expensive areas, I would suggest eastern tokyo where prices are cheaper. If you want to live in the city-city residential areas near shinjuku like Suginami are nice or Toshima.

I'm not saying that Tokyo's airport isn't nice, they both are. I was just assuming that that poster didn't care for Tokyo itself so that is why he/she liked the airport so much since it was where to take a flight out of there. Since it's an assumption, I could be wrong.
