An American company is about the last thing that I would choose in Singapore -- I would try for a Singaporean company or a European one. American companies are untrustworthy and get rid of people by snapping their fingers. Very little social protection as well.

Frankly, I am considering moving to Singapore when I retire. The lifestyle is delightful and all I am waiting for is the certainty that I could get totally unrestricted internet and video/cultural/digital access to the rest of the world, since the Singaporeans still have certain hangups about that.

I would consider it too for its good transit system and being a world class city. My hangups would be the internet thing, and more importantly, the tropical climate. I am not a fan of a hot, humid climate.
