I assure you everyone tries to shove their religion, or non-religion, as well as their politics, their views on how to raise children and how to cook and how to live, down other people's throats. It is human nature.
As for Jehovah's Witnesses, they never struck me as being particularly pushy. I mildly disapprove of door-knocking salesmanship, but not nearly as much as I disapprove of telephone marketing, and even then I understand the person is only trying to make a living. The Witness is doing something much more creditable.
I repeat -- remember patience, courtesy, civility, compassion. I also think everyone has something to teach us, if we only give them the chance. (I am not suggesting you waste your time studying a religion you have no interest in, but only that you be open and compassionate. Who knows, maybe you will convert them away from their error?
Everyone?! You know that is not true.
Have you ever had a non JW or non christian try to convert you to their beliefs? Ever had one knock on your door trying to tell you their beliefs are the only right path?
Ah, once I had a woman tell me I was destined for Hell because I had a statue of Quan Yin in my living room. How odd; she would have approved of one of, say, Abraham Lincoln.
This sort of thing calls for patience, to be sure.
But it is true. Everyone capable of forming an opinion about something is constantly trying to persuade others of the truth of that opinion. Whether you see this resentfully as "throat-shoving" or more openly as people naturally wanting what they see as best depends, I guess, on one's personality and training.
The fool hath said in his heart "there is no God".
A self-serving quote from a totally debunked book of lies written by primitive animal herders. Would you like for me to serve up to you a dozen quotes by Richard Dawkins from The God Delusion?

You must have only met opinionated, arrogant, overbearing people in your life.

People who post such stuff as, "The fool has said in his heart there is no God" are hard for me to understand. It must stem from some deep need to express themselves, combined with a frustrating inability to do so. "Self-righteous" and "judgmental," of course come to mind, as the motivation is hard to be charitable about -- it seems nasty.

No, not interested.
