I thought "Sky Cake" was a little on the lame side, just didn't click with me for some reason ... but loved the others. They are a neat takeoff on the Chick tracts. Chick's stuff was bad enough when I grew up on them, but they seem to have taken a particularly nasty and intolerant turn over the years.

This reminisce prompted me to look up the Wikipedia article on Chick and I was surprised (and yet not surprised) that he had been converted by David Otis Fuller in the late 1940's and is an ardent fan of the "KJV only" movement. In other words he's even more fundamentalist than most fundamentalists.

But it'd be only fair; I saw the original as a kid and accepted his caricature of unbelievers as sneering, bullying, tormentors, deeply and actively hateful towards god and godly people.

I loved the way Unholy Joe crapped in their shoes though. In the original, of course, Holy Joe shined them.

Yes - I saw a lot of Jack Chick. I thought they stunk, but they were beastly effective propaganda, especially if you didn't know the refutations to the 'Atheist professor get pwned by clean - cut Christian student in the evolution class'.
