I'm happy you are contributing merely your in-constructive criticism.
No gods are need nor useful as answer to any of the questions, that is obviously true.

iohanan,

If no good and evil exist outside of God (let's say Hell), then Hell isn't something to worry about since evil doesn't exist in it... it's all just the same (no morals in Hell) to those being tortured by their egotistical Invisible Father (metaphorically not being let into the home during a hellish blizzard because they refuse to acknowledge and worship His Mightiness)

Let the bad keep their religions, if that is all that is stopping us, the good, from having to rid ourself of them inhumanely. If they worship Power so much, then they better look around, because We have the Power; and will fight to maintain it. Let them play pretend, or let them sign pacts with unknown spirits and be wholly fleeced, salted, and consumed. They know not what they do, but they often know what they want; if you want your life safe from our judgement, then you best stay good and play nice.

That was going to be the 11th Commandment, but Yahweh ran out of room on the second tablet and rather than starting a whole new tablet for just one commandment, he decided to make that one a learn when you violate it sort of thing.

Why do you assume "nothing" is the default and the "something" should be what needs explaining? Why should there be nothing?

Easily. We live in a human relationship we call "society". There are things we feel are conducive to the success of that project. We call them "good" or "right". There are things we find non-conducive to that project. We label them "bad" or "wrong".

No great mystery is there?

No, no, no. Didn't you see History of the World Part 1. It was on the third tablet Moses dropped.

3- Pedophily was considered bad by religion, for example. None atheists deffended that before Christ.
i believe hitler killed more *catholic*wasnt he ?
your reasoning is suspect
count over the centuries in all counties and all religions belief in a deity has killed many morepoeple then the short span of russian communism ever could .
catholics dont seem to be able to overcome the *bad* pedophilia rampant in their racks
as i say your reasoning is suspect

What is with the crazy theist posters that come to this forum? They ignore most questions asked of them, and then talk about molesting children.

I'm just giving an example of how this idea wouldn't work without an objective standard for moral values.

They act by instinct. We are rational, not them. They don't know they are doing. Francis Collins, director of the Human Genome Project agrees with me.

Christians are never kiddy fiddlers? I think ten thousand Catholic priests would disagree with you.
