It's simply shorthand for religions that are commonly practiced in the United States. "In 2019, Christians represent 65% of the total adult population, 43% identifying as Protestants, 20% as Catholics, and 2% as Mormons. People with no formal religious identity at 26% of the total population. When consolidating all Christian denominations into one religious grouping, Judaism is the second-largest religion in the U.S., practiced by 2% of the population, followed by Hinduism, Buddhism, and Islam, each with 1% of the population". -- Wikipedia
That was my point. Phet seems to think they determine belief in God so if they are wrong or incorrect or need to be changed belief in God should evaporate. He just has the causal order wrong.
That's a lie.
I have said three times in this thread that I am not suggesting they stop believing in god, but rather suggesting that they should stop believing in one particular religious organization.

There is no American religion. It is non existent. There are Americans who practice a variety of religions.
They are all equal regardless of the numbers.

Lol. USA has no state religion, it will be against the constitution, there is no American religion. All religions are equal, have equal right to practice. Those are facts, not opinions.

Nobody's talking about a state religion. You just want to argue.
There is no line. Any questioning of the belief that the universe is 6000 years old, was created in 7 24hour literal days(before there was even a sun on the 4th day), and wondering where Cain got his wife from and who he was afraid after being kicked out of the garden is…. BLASPHEMY!!
Grounds for being disassociated from the church….DON’T ask questions, just believe.
To repeat what I said previously: "It's simply shorthand for religions that are commonly practiced in the United States".
