Hey everyone! Me and my mom are thinking about moving to Atlanta, Georgia in no more or less than two years. We will be visiting Atlanta in mid-July of 2007 but we kind of don't know here to go and what to look for. We want to have some fun and get info at the same time. We've kinda set our sights on living very close to Emory University and we saw Decatur. Looking closer in we saw Druid Hills, but we're not sure. I'm asking if there are any other places in Decatur that would be nice to check out as in terms of living. These are some conditions:

Rent, or rent to own
apartment, no need for a house
1 bedroom, or one very cheap two-bedroom
close to Emory university

I'm a young teenager with my mom. My mom is on her way to become an RN nurse before we leave, so I'm asking if you could give me some info about great high schools and nursing centers, or hospitals that kinda thing.

If you live in Druid Hills, I'd also like some info about there.
If you live in other places in Decatur then please give me some info about there.

One last thing, when on vacation, what places in atlanta should we visit.
All suggestions are welcome!

Greatly appreciated,
Kat

There's lots of stuff near Emory so I'd start by looking on Craigslist. Toco Hills area may be able to offer a bit more for your price range. There are also some apartment complexes near North Decatur Road and Clairmont that may be good.
When you're here, check out the Botanical Gardens, Piedmont Park and Fernbank Science Center. All are near the area you're looking at so it'll be fun to walk around.
