I just moved to Atlanta and need to know the quickest/fastest route from the Buckhead Traingle area to I-85 North. Please help if you can, thanks!

1. you can take piedmont rd south all the way until you hit I-85
2. you can use 400 toll south

the best way is to invest on GPS if you do not have one yet. It is worth in my opinion. Atlanta road is one of a kind. not easy to manage.

Non-rush hour:

400S to the Sidney Marcus Blvd exit and follow the signs to 85N

Rush hour:

Take Lenox Road south for about 3 miles, access 85N at Buford Highway

Or

Take Lenox road to Peachtree, left on Peachtree, go north 3 blocks to Wieuca/Roxboro Rd and turn right. Go east/south for about 3 miles, cross Buford, follow signs to 85

If you're trying to find a better way during the evening rush, the Lenox/Peachtree/Roxboro/85N route seems to the most hassle free way. Some days though, it might be a better idea to wait until 6:30 or so for traffic to die down. Perhaps, take advantage of happy hour at Twist.
