Top overall southeastern city. Beat out all those Texas cities with great economies.

I agree with their first choice of LA.

I always take these lists with a grain of salt.

But it's still a nice measure for Atlanta. Of particular note is aside from Indianapolis, which I can't really explain, all of the cities that beat us are in California.

It's tough to compete with California since it has such a great climate that promotes a fun lifestyle and so many industries that are either fun or lucrative to work in are headquartered there.

I like California but I could not live there if I was married because if you are married over 10 years and get a divorce you have to pay alimony for life. f that!

I think Cali cities will always be at the top. I'm fairly happy here though. I definitely think Atlanta deserves to be in the top 10.

Yep. I left what would be by most people's standards a "great" job in Texas and now I am semi-employed (soon to change) in Atlanta. Much happier here than I ever could be in their two biggest cities. Ill take quality of life over great economy any day. * my opinion*

Normally I don't put too much into these type of surveys. But for once they portrayed Atlanta in a positive light! With bias, this survey gets .

Atlanta is a great place for young professionals to start their career as well. I would say it's a great city to test out your skills, without worrying about being buried in a larger, and more expensive city. It's also great to start a business in, but that's changing. I don't think you can go the highest possibly you can go in Atlanta though. If you want to take things to the highest level, you may need to do some time in Cali and NYC. But for what it is, Atlanta is awesome, especially if you're willing to work.
