Ok after living in Warner Robins and now on Lake Oconee for the past 6 years...I think I'm finally ready for a taste of the city life. I'm looking for some recommendations on neighborhoods and/or specific complexes that I should look into. Here's my stats:
-31/Single Straight Male with no children or pets....I like to party and live it up with the best of them but at the same time appreciate a little bit of quiet life.
-I travel typically 2 weeks out of the month and then work a little out of the home on the other 2 weeks.
-I'm looking to lease a condo/apt/townhome for around 700-1000 per month.
-I'm not worried about public transportation
-To have restaurants/bars/stores and other action within walking distance is ideal....also a bevy of single, attractive women

Anybody got any ideas? I can supply more info if needed. Thanks!

$1k should easily get you a decent condo in Midtown. Heck, I only pay about $800 a month to live 20 floors up in a Midtown condo tower.

Also the "proper" neighborhood of Midtown (between Piedmont and Charles Allen, south of the park) has a huge number of 1BR rentals in that price range, although it's less "urban" feeling.

- Decatur is worth looking at too; there are plenty of housing options in or near downtown.

- Buckhead is another option, but to me it's basically just a really high density suburb.

- Downtown basically turns into a ghost town at night, except North Peachtree which is mainly tourists going to the Hard Rock Cafe.

- Something like Virginia Highland is good for nightlife, especially if you are nostalgic for college.

I think Midtown and Decatur are the only real "full service" live/work/play urban areas in the metro area, and it sounds like that's what you're after.
