You also have to consider where you need to commute to from if you live in East Cobb. Getting to Roswell or Alpharetta is a breeze. Getting to Sandy Springs and Atlanta can be less of a breeze, since there is one bridge south over the hooch via Johnson Ferry, and it can get backed up.
Neil is correct. I actually have a child attending Lassiter High School and I'm very pleased with the school. However, in all fairness, there are many other excellent high schools in East Cobb (not to mention the other parts of the county mentioned by Neil), and of the East Cobb high schools, the one that's popularly considered most illustrious is Walton.

I commute from the Lassiter area to Sandy Springs over the above-described Johnson Ferry bridge. It's not a bad commute if your hours are flexible. I personally wouldn't want to commute all the way into Atlanta from where I live.

Haha I know there are many great areas of Cobb and many good schools. My wife is a Lassiter Alum though so excuse me for being a bit partial.

I'm also a Lassiter alum, and have lived in East Cobb most of my life. So I'm probably a little bit biased, as well.
