I am trying to get a list of builders that serve in the Atlanta area or simply in Georgia. Does anyone have exceptionally good or bad experience with any builder?

Depends on how "high-end and luxurious" you're looking for. Pulte and John Weiland are two of the largest in the area, are both well-respected, and built some fairly large homes that are high-end for production homes. We live in a Pulte home, and I've been in the construction industry for over 20 years, and there aren't many other builders I'd consider buying from.
