Back when Jim Cherry ran the DeKalb County schools they were consistently ranked as one of top programs in the country. What happened?

As I said, there are plenty of issues worth being concerned about.

Two people I don't even know having an affair is not worth my concern.

You've said this a few times and it makes no sense. Do you have a link or any data to back up this claim? Looking back over the last 20 years, has gained only 37,000 residents. Who are these people who are moving to Athens?

Other people brought up the affair, not me (original poster).

Yeah, and I was respoding to you since you quoted me and then asked me a question. That's sort of how this forum thing works.

Are you on some ganja or something? What's being ran into the ground? So far CEO Burrell Ellis has managed the finances in Dekalb about as well as any other metro Atlanta county, like Cobb, considering the immense decrease in sales tax revenue.

Home-schooling is looking better with each successive year.

I'm not faulting Burrell Ellis for it, but why did DeKalb schools go in the tank? They used to be held up as a shining example of excellence. They still have a $750 million a year budget, so it's not like they torn down the buildings or fired the teachers or quit buying books. The superintendent gets paid $300K a year and they have more employees making over $100K than any system in the metro area, so they shouldn't be hurting for administrative expertise either.

What happened?

Wow, you're like a real, live discussion forum savant. Do you teach lectures anywhere on discussion board posting that I can sign up for?

When you responded to me, you referenced something that I did not make reference to. Typically, stay with me now, when you respond to someone by directly quoting them, you direct your post to the text quoted, not what others in the thread discussed. Just saying.
