Okay, here is what I hope to get help with. By the way, you guys are wonderful for trying to help so many people relocate to the Atlanta area.

1- Husband will be working on Peachtree st. downtown atlanta

2- Housing budget: between 300k-400k

3- 2 children ages 7 and 11

4- Like what I see in Roswell for schools, neighborhoods so far

5- We have lived in predominately white neighborhoods/schools but would never mind a nice mix of different cultures. The areas we have lived in in MO, KY and VA and NC have just been very white for some reason (moved around alot)...

6- Big concern for commute (as most are on here).

7- If you had a choice with our budget/situation where would you choose to live???

8 - We like a safe family friendly, social neighborhoods with some privacy and property...Thanks so much in advance for any advice.

We moved from NY (husband is from Long Island) to Roswell and love it here. My husband commutes to Georgia Tech as well as Kennesaw. Because he leaves the house around 6:00 am it is an easy cruise to work but coming home is longer.

For your budget, you can live in Sandy Springs or Alpharetta and use MARTA to Midtown or Downtown. The train is better than sitting in traffic on 400.
