Hi guys hope i get some response!
I'm a young parent in my late 20's looking to move from Fl to GA, i want to be somewhere near the city but not right in it since that is way out of my price range$$$$$. We are a family mixed black and white so all the kids are tan. lol please help. I was looking online and saw some really nice places in Riverdale that were affordable but then everything i've been reading on that town sounds very negative. Thanks a lot!

If you can provide more FYI posters can respond more specifically.

1. Budget
2. House/Condo/Townhome?
3. Employment Status(commute/work from home)
Place of Employment
4. Children(public school vs. private)
5. Suburban or Urban lifestyle preference or a mix of the two
6. Easy access to public transit, important or not?
7. Preferable demographics of desired neighborhood.

Keep in mind that Ga has state income tax as well. I'd be good to go with the same move otherwise, but I have to prepare for that.

Always a good idea to visit the area first and make sure its a suburb you would want to love in for a while.
I like to stay at bed and breakfasts and find out about areas first. A great way to get history and stay in area while deciding.

Stay in Tampa. Atlanta is currently getting swamped with renters, we don't need anymore. We need homeowners. Also, you might want to glance at the screen once and a while when you're typing.

There are many threads about Riverdale. I'm not that familiar with that part of town.

Stone Mountain or Smyrna might be options.
