Just like a woman who wears a skimpy outfit deserves to be raped?

Please.

Could you twist what I said a little more?

Show me where I said someone deserves to have their valuables stolen? Quote me.

Change the words a little: If you wear skimpy clothes and you are raped, it means you are an irresponsible or naive individual.

I did that a long time ago. Haven't had anything stolen since.
I know I'm old fashioned but I'm not going down that road. To me, giving up on expectations of decency and saying "If you leave your things out you are irresponsible and naive" is giving in. It's an acknowledgment that the bad guys have some sort of legitimacy and they can't help doing what they do.

I may get ripped off but it's not going to change my thinking that the people doing this stealing are fools who intentionally choose to do wrong. They stole the roof of my car two times and the third time me and two friends were waiting on them and we strongly recommended that they not proceed. You've got to stand up to these people, not just hide everything and lock the doors and hope they leave you alone. Granted, that's a pretty ridiculous point of view on my part, but at a certain point you don't care anymore. I'm simply not going to admit that it's my job to adapt to their crappy behavior. As long as these people think they can get away with it they will keep on.

You're assuming that there's a correlation between a woman wearimg skimpy clothes and getting raped.

There's not.

However, there is a correlation between someone leaving their valuables on their car seat unattended and having them stolen.

Why do you lock the doors at your house?

Well, that's a valid point.

However, I don't expect people to break into my house or my car. A locked door should be more than adequate.

The apartments were located near Monroe Dr. and Virginia Ave., at the transition of Va-Hi and Midtown.
I recently had a neighbor in Oak Grove robbed in this fashion when she was walking from the bus stop to her house at 11:30 at night (stupid, she admits). It was about a 200 yard walk, but the perps were trolling the neighborhood, looking for a mark in what they perceived as a well-to-do area.
Why did Jesse James rob banks? Because that's where the money was.
That, I think, is why Va-Hi is being plagued of late by crimes of this nature.
