Yes, we must be careful how we resist & fight back wisely, but we should not be sheep waiting to be slaughtered. We should train and practice regularly. I'm glad to see some measure of common sense returning to more people where guns are concerned. The flakes & sissies among us have scared a lot of people into thinking guns are a bad guy kind of thing. "Don't resist, be nice & cooperate & he won't hurt you". That had some truth for awhile, but it has none any more. Store clerks, mugging victims, etc. get killed all the time now because the perp doesn't want to leave a witness.

Way too much crime in Atlanta. Kids trying to further their education getting robbed for their laptops & cellphones is terrible, but someone was jay walking in Chicago lastnight so I guess Tech kids getting robbed is ok.......

Nothing new. Those dorms had crime when it was under GSU and now under GA Tech. What people fail to realize is that entire area used to be Techwood Holmes and while it is redeveloped there are still tons of thugs in the area and they pick on students all the time.
You really got to be smart down there and be safe. A lot of those kids act like everything if fine and dandy and its not.

It's not okay and more needs to be done. There's a lot of thugs in this city still.
It's not just about easy access to guns, it's a combination of things, like poverty and education. People do stupid things like rob and/or kill someone because they are desperate, have a terrible family life, and/or are uneducated. These other issues need to be resolved but I don't know how. The majority of people against guns feel that way because most crimes are committed with them. It's easier to kill or injure someone with a gun then with a knife, other object or your own hands. Why? Because you just aim and pull a trigger you don't have to get that personal with someone. It's less of a struggle... you just shoot and run the other way. While I'm convinced people who commit crimes are uneducated, most likely poor, and didn't have a decent upbringing... I think guns make it easier for these people. I also see the other side of the argument by people who support guns, so I'm torn on this issue.
