'last snow in Atlanta on Christmas in 1881'

I don't know---it certainly seems like there have been several previous years with a few flakes at least.

I guess we shall see.

Yeah, I distinctly remember a dusting some time in the late 80s.

There is a very good chance that this storm will produce some snow here; several of its' characteristics resemble the storm of the Century in 93 and while it is too early to pin down the exact track, this is Atlanta's greatest shot at a White Christmas (more than 1 inch) in Decades.

the latest National Wester Service forecast discussion says they are expecting 2-3 inches in North Georgia with locally higher amounts in the mountains and up to 1 inch all the way down to Columbus and Macon.

Let's hope it doesn't snow. Do we really want to compound holiday travel with the mayhem we see on the TV news when the word snow is mentioned here in Atlanta? The panic and mass destruction that occurs on the roads is just not worth the overrated view of 1/4 of snow dusting my lawn.

If you want to see snow at Christmas, take a trip to Colorado or Vermont and go skiing. Then you can enjoy real snow without the hysteria.

Why do we want to see snow in Atlanta and the state of Georgia?

We get an avalanche of snow jobs from our "wonderful" Georgia public officials. These crooks are so slippery.
