My husband is watching 11Alive. I think the weatherman is getting loopy. This is what he just said. "This model takes into account snow on the ground. Kind of like 'pants on the ground.'"

That initial map in post #1 seems off a little.

Its already snowed as much as 8-10 inches in parts of Atlanta (suburbs) according to weather watchers in the area. One lady had a pic showing 8 inches of snow in her yard in Cobb Co.

Atlantagreg... do you know about how much snow you have now? Some lady in east Cobb has reported 8 inches of snow and had a pic of it on TWC facebook page.

We have about 3 inches in NE Cobb, but it's starting to turn to ice rain. Nasty winds here.

Just got back from playing in the snow about an hour ago (2 buck chuck + 10 or so Peachtree Street condo dwelling DINKs all working from home tomorrow = acting like kids again for a night). about 6 and half inches on the ground here. Most I've seen in Atlanta since '93

6.4 inches on my building pool deck. Snow still coming down half inch by half inch. I predict less than 1 more inch, but I think we'll pass 7 inches here. Seems Midtown/Downtown had the most snow, according to the Weather Channel. That's a first. Georgia Tech is closed tomorrow for the first day of Spring classes, and it *never* closes. My balcony, which is covered, has about 1.5-2 inches of snow covering it.

I'm in Charleston and that storm must mean business bc I got a call on my phone stating first that my children's school was delayed by 3 hours and then the school board came to their sense's and canceled it all together bc don't get me wrong, I love my kids and want them to not miss school but I drive an 09' Dodge Charger that drinks gas so at $3 a gallon I was gonna keep mine home and read some books and play in what snow we do get!! :-)

3" here. Maybe 6" on the front steps due to drifting.

Here in 30329 it looks like about 4" --with a layer of ice on top and something is still coming down. Very pretty but I know it is slippery.
