Hi All,

I am in town from my new city of Charlotte to work for a few days in Dunwoody. I am staying at Perimeter and would like to check out some cool places preferably within reasonable walking distance from a MARTA stop.

I saw Little Five Points had some cool looking places but I was hoping not to have to drive down into the city as it didn't look like it had a train stop nearby.

I'm not looking for a huge expensive dinner but a little place with good food and good beers on tap. Thanks and I look forward to exploring your city!

Not sure about the beer, but Bistro Niko is an awesome restaurant a very short walk from the Buckhead station. Excellent French bistro, comfort type food and surprisingly reasonable prices.

You could take the train to Midtown or Arts Center Station - TAP is a good place. You could also check out Cafe Intermezzo and/or Meehan's in Dunwoody or Downtown (Peachtree Center Station).

Little 5 Points is not that far from the Inman Park MARTA Station. Just exit the MARTA station and make a right on Hurt Street and a right on Euclid (the next block) and Euclid goes right into Little 5 Points. MARTA - Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority

Be sure to stop in at one of the following for a bite to eat:

The Porter Beer Bar ~ Brilliant Beer Bar, Grub and Suds in the Heart of Little Five Points, Atlanta, GA

The Vortex Bar & Grill

Good choices listed above -- I'll add a couple of my favorite local pub-type places:

Cypress Street Pint & Plate (a few blocks north of the North Avenue station)
Cypress Street Pint & Plate

Publik (a block from the North Avenue station)
Publik Draft House - Atlanta, GA

Thanks for the responses. Vortex was the place in Little 5 Points that for some reason Google told me would take 1 hr 27 minutes via walking and MARTA to get to. I'll definitely reconsider heading down there.

Thanks again!

They probably have you making some absurd bus connection or something.

Little Five Points is a 10-15 minute walk through a beautiful and safe neighborhood from the MARTA station. You'll hardly even notice it.

I'll second The Porter: that's one of my favorite bars in the city. The Flying Biscuit (10th and Piedmont) is a great restaurant; Taco Mac (10th and Peachtree, there is another location at Dunwoody, and another at Lindbergh) is a very good place to catch a game and have a beer (HUGE selection).

TAP (14th and Peachtree) is cool and very trendy.

If you make your way all the way out to Decatur (which is a very cool part of town), the Square Pub is really good. Right next to the MARTA station.
