How big is the Asian-American community in the Atlanta (North Atlanta) area?
Any Hawaiian (folks from Hawaii, not actually Hawaiian blood) communities?

There is a strong Asian community here, but it's not super organized like in some cities. In other words, unlike San Fan or Vancouver, you'll not find an official "Chinatown" or "Japantown" area, etc. Everyone tends to just be more spread out.

The Chamblee/Doraville area have probably the highest concentration of Asian-Americans as well as direct Asian transplants here, but it will be a mix of cultures, not any specific one. Lower Gwinnett County also has a good number, and the Kennesaw area of Cobb County has a growing Asian community.

I have never heard of a "Hawaiian neighborhood" anywhere to be honest, except for Hawaii. LOL

There is in Las Vegas, due to so many transplants.

There actually is a china town mall and accompaning community center in Doraville/ Chamblee. The city or county has grand plans of expanding this complex and making it into part of a big international complex. I think you can find more details if you look up under "atlanta chinatown" I can't remember exactly where I online I read about this. It was a while back.

Yeah, Bufurd Hwy. in Doraville has a lot of Chinese and Korean restraunts, shops, salons, bars, and other businesses. It's pretty cool up there. They also have a lot of hispanic businesses. They have entire strip malls with signs in Korean, Chinese, or Spanish.

Doraville/Chamblee is old area for Asian Americans. Due to crime and lousy schools, most Asian Americans have moved to Johns Creeks/Duluth/Suwanee area. A couple of elementary schools in Johns Creek (Wilson Creek and Shakerag) have close to 40% of Asian kids.

Suwanee is a growing area for Asians, especially Koreans. This growth is also evidenced by many Korean churches, including a Korean Presbyterian "mega church" that they are building. Suwanee elementary is about 20% Asian.

Does anyone know of a Hawaii Club in Atlanta? Or even a group of locals to get together with here in Atlanta?

GRF... you replied to a post that was almost 10 months old. It's best to just start a new thread with stuff like this.
