Hello,

I am interested in finding out about summer camp programs for children under the age of 12 with heavy interests in the arts, science and technology.

I have a daughter (almost Middle School age) who loves arts and sciences and now is the time to apply for summer camps.

Any suggestions you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

What's available in the Atlanta area?

Practical Lady

Westminster Arts and Sciences day camp is awesome. The kids get to choose several "classes" from a fairly wide selection. Most of the "counselors" are teachers. Plus, it is a full day camp so if you are a working parent, it is actually doable.

Camp Scientific at Walton High school....haven't checked to see if it is back this year, not sure the ages on this one. Also I think The New American Shakespeare Tavern has some theater camps in various locations around town. I believe The Strand theater has another Drama camp but I can't recall the details. Kennesaw University has camps as well. My kids did a cooking camp there one year. High Meadows School (Roswell) has an awesome day camp for kids through 8th grade.

Don't dilly-dally. Westminster camps fill up pretty quickly, though Arts and Sciences doesn't fill as quickly as their Day Camp.
